The real question behind this one is usually "how much of our workday is this going to eat?"
Fair question. Here's the honest timeline.
Per person: about five minutes
Five minutes covers walking in, a moment to settle, and enough frames to guarantee a keeper. Most people are done in three.
That's not a rushed five minutes. Because I shoot tethered — the image appears on a screen a second after I take it — people can see what's working immediately. That feedback loop does in thirty seconds what verbal reassurance takes five minutes to do.
Setup and teardown: about 20 minutes each
I arrive ahead of your first slot and set up before anyone shows. Nobody stands around waiting for lights.
All I need is roughly 10 by 12 feet and an outlet. A conference room with the table pushed back is the usual answer.
What that means for a whole team
- Up to 10 people — about two hours on-site including setup.
- Up to 25 people — a half day.
- Up to 60 people — a full day.
Those are real numbers with room to breathe, not a theoretical maximum. They assume a signup sheet, which is the one thing that reliably keeps a day on schedule.
Where days actually run long
In my experience it's never the photography. It's:
- No schedule. Without slots you get twelve people at 9am and nobody at 11.
- Wardrobe indecision. Solved by telling people what to wear beforehand — here's the guide to send.
- Open-ended review. Picking a favorite takes seconds at the monitor. Debating it with three colleagues does not. That is what the gallery afterwards is for.
Delivery: the same week
You get a gallery within the same week — one retouched, high-resolution headshot per person, ready for your site and LinkedIn.
Retouching is included. There's no per-image upsell and no waiting on a proof round to find out what it costs.
The short answer
For most teams this is a half day of mild disruption in one conference room, and the photos are on your website by the end of the week.
If you're organising it, the planning checklist is here. Pricing is flat and published, or send me your headcount and dates.
